Could not acquire hardware tool communications resources: RealICEPlatformTool SN#xxxxxxxxx

Does anyone know what is causing this trouble? Is there a fix for this?

Would you be able to give some additional data, equally: ane) Which OS are you using (Windows, Linux, or MacOSX), and 2) What version of that OS (XP, Vista, 7, Ubuntu, 10.v, ten.6, etc), and three) Is this 32-flake or 64-chip hardware, and iv) Are you lot using a 32-bit or 64-bit Java (yous tin get the version and send it to united states through a panel window typing "java -version"). Are you seeing the Real Water ice series number in the property pages of your project? If then, did yous select that series number so apply the change? Thanks for the additional info.

I had this error besides with an ICD3 debugger.

I managed to articulate it past correct-clicking on the project, selecting properties, choosing "ICD3" in the left hand side, and then clicking the "Reset" button on the right.

Thank you dude...i was searching for the solution for ii days..finally i've done the reset as you said...information technology worked!

I had this mistake too with an ICD3 debugger.

I managed to articulate it by right-clicking on the project, selecting backdrop, choosing "ICD3" in the left hand side, and and then clicking the "Reset" button on the right.

This applies to ICD3 besides.  I'm glad this thread is permalink - that's the only way I could recover my ICD3

been battling dizzy and idiotic functionality errors with the MPLABX debugger for the by month (pickit3).  lately :

 ***************************

Could not acquire hardware tool communications resources: PICkit3PlatformTool SN#<sn>BUR142351622
The debugger could not exist started. Terminating debug session.
User program finished
*****************************************

 Tried the RESET suggestion above on MPLABX debugger iii.26 ... no dice.
Oddly enough MPLAB_IPE three.26 comes up without a trouble ... initializes the processor (PIC24F256GB106) and reset and programs it.

 Just the MPLABX debugger (3.26) still acting upwards.

 Does anyone know if microchip has ever ported GDB to piece of work with their products? MPLABX has so many bug its hard to consistently get any work done in a timely fashion. Fortunately the pain will end with this particular projection ... just until then ...

But the MPLABX debugger (3.26) withal acting up.

 If is gets dull after debugging there is a fix for that.

its non initializing the pickx3 at all. my luck ill come in tomorrow and past some fluke itll offset working

only the mplab-ipe works
